– FFB Values Statement: what sort of place do you want it to be?
We want as many of you to be involved in FFB as possible so for those of you interested in contributing in a less outdoors based way, we’ve put together a list of dates for our committee meetings for the next 12 months!
The meetings will be on the 3rd Thursday of the month unless this happens to be close to holidays, in which case we have moved the date to the Thursday prior. So, here the are:
– July 19
– August 16
– September 20
– October 18
– November 15
– December 13 (due to Christmas)
– January 17
– February 21
– March 21
– April 11 (due to Easter)
– May 16
– June 20
Our meetings are held at the Fawkner Bowling Club and start at 7:30pm. Please feel free to come or contact us if you have any questions.
FFB is also looking for a new Treasurer. We’d love to find someone who is comfortable with keeping track of financials and reporting on the comings and going’s of the groups accounts. We are an incorporated group so we need to make sure we have things covered and done correctly and we’d appreciate the help of someone who’s comfortable doing this. This is of course one of the many contributing factors in keeping the garden going and is just as important as the physical building of the garden. If you’d like to trade your financial skills for fresh produce, contact us via our email address (email@example.com). We’d love to hear from you.
We’d also love to hear what sort of a place you’d like Fawkner Food Bowls to be. Next Sunday the 15th of July from 11am to 12pm, we’ll have a sit down session to start putting together a values statement for the garden and the group. By creating a statement of the intention of the group, we hope to be able to clarify and share our vision of the kind of place we are creating. As so beautifully put by Tania Sheward, who has kindly offered to facilitate the session: The aim of the session is to create a statement that expresses our core beliefs, values and commitments as an organisation, and describe our purpose as a community group. If you’d like to share your thoughts please feel free to join us from 11am next Sunday at the Bowls Club.
Wishing you all good food, happy plants, and warm socks.
